Welcome Home to Emmanuel

Wherever you are on your journey — whether you've been part of an Episcopal church your whole life or you've never set foot inside one — you belong here. Emmanuel Episcopal Church is a place of open doors, open hearts, and open minds, and we are genuinely glad you found us.

Nestled in the heart of Hailey, Idaho, in the beautiful Wood River Valley, Emmanuel has been a welcoming spiritual home since 1883. We are part of the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho, rooted in the Anglican tradition of worship that blends ancient rhythms of prayer with a deep commitment to love, justice, and human dignity. Whatever brought you here — curiosity, a season of searching, a need for community, or simply a desire to draw closer to God — you are welcome exactly as you are.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

●  SUNDAY WORSHIP

We gather every Sunday at 9:30 AM for Holy Eucharist or Morning Worship. The service typically lasts about an hour and follows the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer — a beautifully ordered liturgy that includes Scripture readings, a sermon, communal prayers, and the celebration of the Eucharist (Communion).

The pace is gentle, the atmosphere is warm, and you will never feel lost. Printed bulletins guide you through every step, and the people around you are happy to help.

● NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

You do not need any background in Episcopal worship — or in any faith tradition — to feel at home here. We sit, stand, and kneel together (always with the freedom to do whatever is comfortable for you). Words are provided for every prayer and response.

All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion. If you are not baptized or are unsure, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing instead. No one is left out.

  FINDING US

Emmanuel Episcopal Church is located at 101 S. Second Avenue, Hailey, Idaho 83333. We are easy to find in the heart of downtown Hailey, just a short distance from Main Street.

Street parking is available on Second Avenue and surrounding streets. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can get settled and meet a friendly face at the door.

●  COME AS YOU ARE

There is no dress code at Emmanuel. Some people come in their Sunday best; others arrive in jeans and hiking boots fresh from a Wood River trail. What matters is that you are here.

After the service, we love to linger over coffee and conversation. It is one of the best ways to get to know our community, and we hope you will stay and share a cup with us.

More Ways to Connect

Sunday worship is just the beginning. Emmanuel offers a variety of opportunities to grow, serve, and belong throughout the week:

  • Wednesday Bible Study — Join us at 2:00 PM each Wednesday for an open, thoughtful exploration of Scripture. All perspectives and questions are welcome.

  • Open Sanctuary Fridays — The church is open every Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM for personal prayer, quiet reflection, or simply a peaceful pause in your week.

  • Saturday Thrift Shop — Our volunteer-run thrift shop is open Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM — a beloved community ministry where neighbors help neighbors.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

We would love to hear from you. Whether you have questions, want to visit on a Sunday, or simply want to introduce yourself, join us any Sunday.

We would love to see you this Sunday at 9:30 AM — or any Sunday.

You're not an outsider here; you're simply someone we haven't met yet.
